National Service Scheme(NSS)


  • Understand the community in which they work
  • Understand themselves in relation to their community
  • Identify the needs and problems of the community and involved them in problem solving process
  • Develop among themselves a scene of social and civic responsibility
  • Utilize their knowledge in finding the practical solution to individual and community problems
  • Develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities
  • Gain skills in mobilizing community participation
  • Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude
  • Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and
  • Practice national integration and social harmony

The Motto

The motto or watchword of the National Service Scheme is 'NOT ME BUT YOU'. This reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service and appreciation of the other person's point of view and also to show consideration for fellow human beings. It underlines that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of society on the whole. Therefore, it should be NSS to demonstrate this motto in its day-to-day programme.

NSS Units

NSS UNIT-I VOLUNTEERS Intake 100 at 2011 onwards.
NSS UNIT –II VOLUNTEERS Intake 100 from 2014 onwards

NSS Activities

  • About 200 volunteers were participated in Krishna pushakarams-2016
  • About 500 sample of trees planted during Vanam-Manam program around ANU college of engineering and technology.
  • Conducting regular activities every year like Earth day, International yoga day, Mother’s day and AIDS day and bringing awareness among NSS volunteers.
  • About 100 volunteers donated 100 units of blood samples during mega blood camp organized in the ANU campus.
  • Conducting Swatch bharath programs like clean and green around ANU College of engineering and technology and in campus weekly for bringing the awareness among volunteers.
  • Recently we organized rain water harvesting and water pits programs to bring awareness among volunteers.

NSS Achievements

  • One of the volunteer has been selected for pre-republic day parade selections that were held at Nagpur.
  • One of the female volunteer participated in National integration camp.
