Our International Collaborative Researchers
Most of the teachers are doing collaborative research with various National and Internationals Institutes. Some of the International collaborators include: University of Tartu, Estonia; Technical University of Czestochowa, Poland; Rudjer Boskovic´ Institute, Croatia; University of Aveiro, Portugal; Jan Dlugosz University, Poland; Kyoto University, Japan; JLN University, Kampar, Malaysia and Jackson State University, USA.
3. Some of the highlights of the Department
• The Department is funded by UGC-DRS, UGC-SAP and DST-FIST Programmes
• All the faculty members are handling several research projects funded by UGC, DST,
DRDO, CSIR, DAE etc. During the last ten years nearly a worth of Rs. 4 crores has been received exclusively by this Department in the form of various projects from the above agencies.
• The Department has also got the credit of organizing a considerable number of National and International conferences on Materials Science.
• The research labs are equipped with ultra-modern sophisticated instruments like Powder X-Ray diffractometer, TG-DTA, FTIR, Optical absorption Spectrophotometer, IR spectrophotometer, Rheometer, Dielectric Bridge with a wide range of frequency, several high temperature furnaces and several other basic research facilities for the synthesis and characterization of Glasses, Ceramics, Nano materials, and Liquid Crystals.
• Every year about 50 research articles are being published in various international reputed peer reviewed journals by the staff and scholars of the Department. The number of publications and the quantum of research scholars in the department are always on the top of list. During the last ten years around 200 research articles were published by the faculty of the department.
• Every year at least 10 students are being awarded Ph.D. degrees and about 20 students are getting their M. Phil. degrees from this Department. |
