Higher Education in recent years, has undergone significant paradigm shifts including the shift from ‘teacher-centred’ to a ‘learner-centred’ learning and the replacement of the traditional method of ‘learning over a specified period of time’ by the concept of informal and continuous ‘lifelong learning’. Keeping pace with the changing scenario, Acharya Nagarjuna University has started the Centre for Distance Education (CDE) to offer UG and PG courses form the academic year 2003-04.

The head quarters of the CDE is located in Acharya Nagarjuna University campus, between Vijayawada and Guntur on Kolkata – Chennai National Highway ( NH – 5 ).
